Adventurers Needed

Roll Your Own Special Projects

I'm looking for five to ten beta-stitchers to assist me on a new cross stitch project. Guinea pigs, if you would. These would be stitchers who routinely combine parts of charts, switch up colors, add their own special touches, and are not be afraid to occasionally frog something (we'll obviously try to minimize that last one.) These stitchers will need to have several hours a week to devote to this project and will be posting their progress weekly.

Stitchers will need to keep the details on the down low; this will not be the best project to take to a big stitching retreat. And you'd of course need to promise to not post or share any of the charts with others.

You will be supplying your own fabric and floss, and will be keeping the finished piece. The good news is that you'll be able to stitch on what ever type and count of fabric you like, and with floss of your choice. This is a unique, customized project where everyone's piece will look like a cousin or a sibling at best, but not a twin to any other. The project size is nominally 200 by 300, but as you will see is adaptable. You will not have an overall picture at the start.

This activity will be conducted in a closed Facebook group, and stitchers will be expected to provide feedback and make suggestions so this project can be successfully rolled out in 2019.

To be considered for this role, send me an email with a photo of your dice bag and contents (this is actually relevant to the selection process) and a skein of floss that makes you think of the ocean. (tracy@inkcircles.com)

I'm going on vacation and will close the window for submissions when I return on August 29th. I'll have the team picked and the overview and the materials list up by September 1st, with the expectation that everyone will have materials in hand and be able to start stitching by September 15th.
