When I saw this linen with the woven windowpane design, I knew I had to use some. I thought it was perfect for a wintery Celtic design and came up with this below. It is lovely at it's 81 by 81 stitches, but absolutely useless as an ornament, unless you are an over 1 stitcher or like REALLY BIG ornaments.
A bit of reworking gave me the ornament design you see to the right. It measures 46 by 48 and is worked 2 over 2. (The windowpanes aren't perfectly square, you see.)

These pieces are still quite workable, but not everyone's cup of tea, so I called them "seconds."
